Rosie

Bread & Butchery & Pickles & Pie

Housed in a historic curved brick building in the legendary Rondout region, Rosie is a throwback to old school Hudson Valley grocers that provided their community with all the daily necessities, stocked high and heavy.

Led by Michelin Star Chef Anthony Sasso (Casa Mono) and Pastry Chef Nicole Sasso (Gramercy Tavern), Rosie is an homage to the siblings’ mother, Rosie: honoring their Italian heritage, Jewish warmth, and coming together over bread. Designed by Brooklyn-based Home Studios, styled by owner and branded & photographed by Shipdaddy Studio.

Rosie is renowned for its daily bread offering, subtle baked goods, cakes & pies made from locally grown fruit, and specialty fudges.

The all day menu, prepared within earshot, is as rich as it is simple: BEC, traditional deli sandwiches, and housemade vinagrettes, pickles & mustards inspire the interiors.

The approach to interior design and procurement was driven by the Owner’s hands-on approach, building the space with his father, a carpenter, alongside friends and family. We worked with Home Studios to realize this vision, focusing on reclaimed materials, a soft palette, and well/previously loved tabletop design.

BRANDING & PHOTOGRAPHY

Shipdaddy developed the visual identify, defined by an organic palette, imperfect pattern and handmade labels.

The photography style was established with a sun-kissed temperature, texture, limited clarity, and expression of movement.
